Try mo lng...
to tenderize the beef, i use the back end of the knife, (yung hindi matalas) then i pound away at the beef, magkakaroon sya ng ridges and squares... then marinade it, after marinading, fry it in oil.. after frying every piece of meat, ung pinagprituhan bawasan mo ng oil then dun na ko ng gigisa ng bawang, sibuyas(red) then soy sauce add a little water then let it simmer.. then lagay mo yung white onion and freshly squeezed calamansi juice.. takpan for 5 min. that would carmelize the white onion and make it a little sweet..

one of the best Pinoy recipes
try to add slices of red pepper to make it yummier, tastier and to achieve a 'lekker' smell.

Same procedure but I don't fry the onion. As soon as the hostel is cooked, I put the onion ( cut in rings) on top of the dish, cover it and it will continuously cook by itself with the fire off. it's crunchier
