Filipino Leche Flan (eggwhites)

Filipino Lechen Flan (eggwhite) is a dish consist of well beaten eggwhites, milk, sugar, and vanilla that is steamed or baked.

Leche Plan Ingredients

  • 10 egg (egg whites); well beaten
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 moulds (lyanera) container
  • Aluminum foil

Leche Flan Cooking Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the following ingredients: egg whites, evaporated milk, sugar, and vanilla.
  2. Pour mixture in the moulds and cover with aluminum foil.
  3. Steam for about 15 - 20 minutes. Remove from steamer.
  4. Cool it down before serving.

I steam bake my leche flan all the time. Normally, I make them Two days before I need it and it is always delicious. My family loves it and always asked for more. making it in advance and let it cool all the way before you store it in your refrigerator.My husband don't want me to alter the recipe so I always use the yolks recipe...goodluck!

egg white for you face....
you can use egg whites on your face. Just wash your face first and then apply directly the fresh egg whites on your face and wait until it tightens.Then was it again... Ang sarap ng feeling, it helps kasi to make the face smoother.....

subukan nyo instead of water and sugar..try to use pineapple juice and sugar (caramelized sugar) always water kase kaya para maiba namn:) masarap deliciousa!!
and then try to add pili nuts finely chopped: yeah!! approved

leche plan using egg whites
you can use the egg whites for this recipe. 8 eggs whites; 1 big can evap milk, or condensed milk (your choice)
sugar to taste and 1 tsp. of instant coffee. the process is just the same. .

bakit yun kumare ng nanay ko. nagluto leche flan sa amin,. hinalo nia yung egg white sa yolk. pero masarap pa din. ung tipong parang wala tlgng egg white. huhuhu. Ano ba kasi mga secreto nio. magluluto kasi ako ng leche flan for my husband. para naman maimpress sia. how how de carabao.

If you want your flan creamy use eggyolk but if you want it a flan like Digman is using for their halo-halo mix eggyolk and eggwhite together.

pwedeng gamitin ang egg whites to make caramel flan.

just add diluted instant coffee to the egg whites and add the same amount of condensed and evaporated milk as what was used with the egg-yolk-only leche flan.

Steam the same way.

thanks for this recipe..but please can anyone write down how to do the braso de mercedes also? i tasted it once when i went for a vacation in PI and i liked it but dont know how to do it, sayang nga naman kung itapon ang better do 2 sweets at the same time..

kung puro whithe lang gagamin d nagiging rich and creamy ung leche flan
d gaya ng gumawa muna ng basic cream anglaise tas un ung gamitin na mixture para sa leche flan
much better na gamitin nalang ung mga white para sa merengue or sa angle food cake
kung walang oven beat mo nalang ung whites para gumawa ng fluffy torta hehehe;-)

what to do with the egg whites?
My tita's from Mexico uses egg whites to freshen up wooden floors or furniture, especially those antique tables. Just mix the white eggs with lemon or suka ( one lemon per 5 eggs) then spread over the surface and leave it for 2 to 3 hours then wipe out out. galing, the wood surface is looking fresh and new.

You can use egg whites to make angel food cake. That's what I usually do everytime I make leche flan, so I got two delicious dessert!!!

i think that the yellow egg-yolk with condense is for those people who are not conscious with their Body...
ANd for the white its for the Body conscious people because they dont put condense milk on it.. BUt anyway thanks for this poSt.. CIAO

lolz...yan tawag ko sa binake ko...sayang kc ang white kung di maluluto...ang white nahaluan konti ng yolk so di sya tumubo...kaya nilagyan ko ng condense...try ko e bake kung ano labas...i bake cakes and other try ko tong condense at eggwhite...

thanks for publishing. I tried the recipe but added condensed milk. wala kasing lasa pag plain evap milk lang.

it turns out ok, pero mas masarap pa din pala ang egg yolk na leche flan but at least, there's an option what to do with the egg whites na left over di ba?

also, medyo parang bubbly yung finished product. hindi sya smooth tulad ng egg yolk ang gamit. mahirap din salain ang egg white na mixture.

lastly, wala kasi kaming steamer kaya i baked it for an hour.

all in all, masarap na din! :-D
